CFP Educational Philosophy: On the farm the educational emphasis is on first hand experience and exploration. Children are encouraged to touch, hear, smell, observe, and ask questions. Your child will participate in farm routines to gain an appreciation of the origins of food, and to learn a care taking role with plants and animals. Farm classes will focus on experiences like feeding and collecting eggs from the chickens, planting seeds, preparing compost, making butter, harvesting and creating crafts and snacks from the garden. In addition to the farm’s vegetable production fields, a children’s educational garden is underway to provide for greater freedom with hands on experiences.
