Cardo’s Farm Project is a community farm and education center that serves the Denton Community by providing healthy food grown in harmony with the natural environment, and farm-based educational opportunities. CFP is seeking two agriculture interns for the 2013 Spring growing season. The general responsibility of the agriculture interns are to work directly under the supervision of the Farm Manager and Project Director as a member of the farm crew. This is physically demanding farm work that involves all aspects of our farm’s production. This internship provides the opportunity to work and learn on a farm. This internship is a farmer-in-training program for those who wish to gain experience with and knowledge of raising chemical-free vegetables, farm-based educational programming, and community building and outreach.
Interns are expected to carry out farm tasks including but not limited to: sowing, transplanting, weeding, greenhouse work, farm maintenance, harvesting, some animal husbandry, guiding farm tours, and working with volunteers, the CSA program, and farmers market. New to the internship this season is a possibility to earn pay for additional work.
